DANNY AND CHRISTINA WARD
I wish to inform the house that Danny and Christina Ward will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on 1 June this year. In 1959 Danny and Christina were married in Bangor, Northern Ireland, and moved to Melbourne, where they made a new home on the other side of the world in Clayton. In 1971 the Wards bought a farm in the Strzelecki Ranges and named it Donegal. In 1978 they moved to Mount Waverley. They have raised three children—Joanne, Robyn and Bill—eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. It is fair to say that they have contributed much to our country. I congratulate them on their diamond anniversary and I wish them a wonderful day full of love and happiness surrounded by family and friends.
MOUNT WAVERLEY ELECTORATE SENIORS BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
On another matter I recently sent out around 600 birthday cards to Mount Waverley seniors who are celebrating milestone birthdays of 60 and older. These cards were made special not by us but by Tess, who is 10 and attends Essex Heights Primary School. Tess provided some lovely artwork, which we put on the cards, and my office has had many calls thanking her for the bunny and the ‘furriendly’ birthday message.
MOUNT WAVERLEY ELECTORATE PRIMARY SCHOOLS
I would like to thank the staff and students at Glendal, Pinewood and Essex Heights primary schools for inviting me to speak to the classes of 2019 about my experiences in leadership and offer what guidance I could. It was an honour to help present leadership badges and certificates. I wish them all well, and hopefully we will all achieve great things in our new leadership roles this year.
