MEMBER-STATEMENTS-MICHELE AND FILOMENA GIULIANI

Mr  FREGON (Mount Waverley) (14:08:29): I would like to inform the house of the 70th wedding anniversary of Michele and Filomena Giuliani. Michele migrated to Australia from Italy in 1951, and a year later his wife, Filomena, joined him in Australia with their firstborn daughter. They settled in Port Melbourne, then Kensington, and during this time Michele worked as a fitter and turner in various factories while Filomena worked as a sewing machinist making furniture. They built their dream home in Glen Waverley in 1965, having three daughters; they now have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Their daughter Rosa told me that although they are very proud of their heritage, they are so happy to have made Australia their home, and I am very happy they have made a home for themselves in Glen Waverley. I am told they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary loved and surrounded by friends and family. A huge congratulations for a very happy anniversary.
