I direct my adjournment matter to the Minister for Housing. The action I seek is for the minister to provide a written review of the Holy Family School’s Melbourne 3000 book.

Recently I attended Holy Family School and sat down with the grade 5 and 6 students and their teachers for a chat. We spoke about my role here in Parliament and the community at large. We discussed a myriad of issues and topics from climate change to pollution, animal justice, NAPLAN and homelessness. The future is in good hands with students like these. They also talked to me about a project they have been working on. The students have been visiting the city to interview people and discuss the sights. From these interviews they have produced this fantastic book, Melbourne 3000, which they are selling to raise money to tackle homelessness. I was given a copy of the book, and I purchased another copy which I presented to the minster earlier today.

I was so proud to see our youngest in Mount Waverley actively engaging in social issues and being passionate about creating change. I commend them for their efforts, and I know the kids, the teachers and I look forward to the minister’s response.
