Matt Fregon was elected as the Labor State Member for Mount Waverley on November 24th 2018.

The electorate of Mount Waverley justifiably takes much pride in being known for excellence in public education. Matt’s mother was a teacher, his wife is a teacher and her mother was a much¬ loved teacher at the local Glen Waverley Secondary College. For Matt’s family, government education is in the blood, and it is deeply valued by Matt.

Matt was born and raised in Melbourne’s east. He moved to Mount Waverley with his wife Rebecca, and his daughter in 2010. The family has since grown with two more sons joining the Fregon family.
Since moving to Mount Waverley, Matt has taken pride in being involved in local community groups, and is now working hard to support all his local community groups and encouraging members of the local community to get involved.
Matt is a passionate advocate for the mental health awareness, family violence, education and connecting the community.
